I consider myself fortunate to have been born and raised in Troyeshchyna, a kind of "paradise" itself. This district of Kyiv was conceived in the 1980s as a well-planned residential area with developed infrastructure. However, over time and under the pressure of socio-economic factors, this place has transformed into a rather specific residential district of the capital, renowned for its "unique" atmosphere, considerable distance from the city center, the absence of a metro line, and traffic congestion "to paradise/from paradise" during rush hours. This series is an attempt to shape and convey the feelings and attitudes towards a place that, as historians note, was once referred to as "paradise" in honor of the palace and lands of a local prince. Nowadays, approximately four hundred thousand people reside here, shaping and transforming this space according to their preferences and concepts of beauty and functionality, thus creating the face of the district. Primarily, this series is about the territory itself and its exploration, the formation of a distinct reality, the search for patterns and the peculiarities of this place. Simultaneously, it is an endeavor to go beyond personal perceptions and prejudices regarding all of this, capturing the landscape that is not static but constantly undergoing change, giving rise to new combinations of contemporary artifacts.
